State-Specific Solutions

Solutions for Indiana (IN)

Indiana has established a robust framework of state-specific regulations and reporting requirements to govern Career & Technical Education (CTE), Work-Based Learning (WBL), and College & Career Readiness (CCR). These efforts are a collaboration between the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE), the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE), and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD). The Jobready360 platform is a solution built with these requirements in mind. It provides a streamlined approach for educators and students to manage and report on critical data points, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Jobready360 even includes support for aligning WBL and CTE data to Next Level Programs of Study (NLPS) guidelines and corresponding alignment to the new National Career Cluster framework changes for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Support is also included for Indiana’s Promoted Industry Certifications to allow for easy reporting through the InTERS CTE data collection system. Furthermore, Jobready360 can also help with tracking the state’s new Graduates Prepared to Succeed (GPS) diploma system.

Career Planning & Development

  • Career Awareness & Development: Indiana Code § 20-30-5-14 mandates career awareness and development instruction for students in grades 1 through 12. In Jobready360, students can identify their strengths, set goals, and track development, including participation in WBL, CTSOs and Clubs.
  • Graduation Plans: By the end of the eighth grade, every student must complete a formal Graduation Plan. This plan outlines the student’s postsecondary goals and includes a four-year high school course plan designed to help them achieve those goals.
  • Annual Review: Graduation Plans must be reviewed and updated annually by the student, a parent or guardian, and a school representative to ensure it remains relevant to the student’s evolving interests and goals.
  • Career Portfolio: Each student has a public facing career portfolio that they can use to market themselves to potential employers and postsecondary institutions. This can be used as evidence of employability skills mastered.

Track Graduates & Alumni with Follow-Up Studies

  • Perkins V Reporting: States are required to report on specific core indicators of performance, which include post-graduation outcomes for CTE students.

  • Employment: The state needs to know if former students are employed, and if so, whether the job is related to their field of study.
  • Postsecondary Education: Data is collected on whether students are enrolled in a two-year or four-year college, a technical program, or another form of postsecondary education.

  • Military Service: The state tracks the number of students who enlist in the armed forces.

  • Industry Certifications: The state tracks whether students have earned an industry-recognized credential or certification, which is a key measure of program quality.

Graduation Pathways & Diploma Seal Requirements

  • Graduation Pathways: The new GPS pathways emphasize a personalized approach to a student’s education. moving beyond traditional academics to include requirements for employability skills, postsecondary-ready competencies, and work-based learning.
  • Diploma Seal Requirements: Digital badging and career planning activities in Jobready360 can be used to track diploma seal requirements and automatically award badges as they are met.
  • Course Planning: Plan courses to take, track academic progress, and ensure students have enough credits in each subject area to earn a diploma.
